G.Verdi – I due Foscari – Opera Company of the Slovak National Theatre
Apart from the guest Leo Nucci, there is one more name to highlight from Thursday's performance. It is the young conductor Martin Leginus, who, despite his above-average talent during the Dvorsky era, did not receive any independent premiere, although he has often proved in reruns that, especially for Italian opera, he has rare dispositions. The strong impression was obvious, that Leo Nucci and Martin Leginus respected each other, that they breathed and modelled phrases together, that they professed the same poetics of expression. The result, also in terms of the orchestra's performance, was beyond expectations.
