A.Dvořák – Rusalka, the new production of Karolina Sofulak, The Grand Theatre of Stanislaw Moniuszko in Poznaň, Poland
...The conductor's work is indirectly evidenced by the already mentioned excellent vocal level of the performance. The orchestral parts were interpreted with verve but without hysteria. Slavonic, broad phrases, heavenly harps and several 'Hollywood' highlights appear. The legacy of the great conductors of the 20th century - especially the generation that reinterpreted the classics in the post-avant-garde era (such as Claudio Abbado and Pierre Boulez) - dominates here. Leginus tries to draw out details that escape less attentive conductors. He does not sweep minor dissonances under the carpet. The orchestra of the Grand Theatre in Poznań sounds excellent under his baton and avoids the mistakes that are common in Polish opera ensembles.
