Mozart Gala - Slovak State Philharmonic Košice, soloist - Jana Kurucová
The audience of Košice could get acquainted with the art of Martin Leginus, a conductor from the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava, during his guest appearance at the State Theatre Opera, when in the 2017/18 season he staged Verdi's opera Falstaff with the Oscar-winning director Jiří Menzel. At the Mozart Gala Concert (10 June 2021), the conductor demonstrated many of his artistic strengths, which are obvious and necessary when working on a work by Mozart. Above all, he is able to translate the style of the music he performs, but not only in terms of period style, but also in terms of differentiating the time and the setting in which it sounds. He can distinguish between a concert performance and a stage interpretation of Mozart's music. At the same time, he is always precise, agile and calm, his dynamic nuances are unmissable and effective.
